Sodexo and Klaxit offer a new mobility solution: just as an employer might offer meal vouchers today, they will be able to offer transportation vouchers tomorrow.

Sodexo has long been a world leader of employee voucher programs, and with Klaxit they’re bringing this expertise to the mobility landscape. Introducing the Sustainable Mobility Pass, an easy to use carpooling solution that offers savings and peace-of-mind to both employees and employers.

The Solution: The Sustainable Mobility Pass

For employees, the Sustainable Mobility Pass is a preloaded account that facilitates carpooling by automatically transferring funds to the driver through the Klaxit mobile app.

For employers, the solution helps organizations benefit from tax-exempt subsidies programs, save on staff parking spaces, and improve their ability to recruit and retain employees. This is especially true for employers whose sites are poorly served by public transportation. And with its proprietary “proof of carpool” technology, Klaxit guarantees mileage and ensures that the Sustainable Mobility Pass is used to make home-based carpools.

The New French Mobility Law

With this initiative, both Sodexo and Klaxit are taking advantage of a new French mobility bill (LOM) which will allow employers to cover the costs of commuting to work by bicycle, carpool or via other shared mobility services by being exempt from charges up to € 400 per year. The bill furthermore creates an obligation for companies to negotiate on mobility.

Sodexo and Klaxit: Partners Working Hand-in-Hand

Founded in 2014, Klaxit is a car-pooling specialist that, unlike many of its competitors, targets companies. Today, the start-up works with 200 companies, including a third of the members of the CAC 40 in France. Every day, its network of drivers makes 300,000 trips.

Sodexo Ventures invested in Klaxit in 2018. For Sodexo, this was a first step in the business-to-business mobility market. Beyond carpooling, the ambition of this pass is to go further and to offer employees a unique means of payment for all their mobility and business expenses.
