We are among the top 3 companies working most collaboratively with startups in Europe. Yes, you heard it right! On November 22, Europe’s Corporate Startup Stars ranking revealed the results of its search for the most supportive corporates in terms of open-innovation, chosen by the startups themselves.
What winning this award means for Sodexo?
At Sodexo, we believe it’s essential to team up with incubators, accelerators, startups, universities, clients and other partners to be able to grow and innovate at an increased pace, staying ahead of our competitors. This award shows that startups from all over Europe recognize us as a true ally, helping them expand their impact expands and grow their profits.
On our side, we gain the tremendous advantage of being exposed to innovative new solutions in the market, getting inspired and sometimes taking advantage of these solutions to innovate in our own right; all with one common objective: to drive business growth. It’s a win-win relationship!
Belen Moscoso Del Prado, Chief Digital and Innovation Officer, said: “We are delighted to be recognized for the digital and innovation journey we are building with our partnered startups. We are excited about this award, and we look forward to future opportunities for Sodexo and innovative actors to create even more value for our clients and consumers; this is what we’ll pursue with Sodexo Ventures and our internal teams,”.
“Europe’s Corporate Startup Stars” was conducted as a part of the European Commission’s Startup Europe Partnership initiative. It’s the first pan-European open innovation platform dedicated to transforming European startups into scaleups by linking them with global corporations and stock exchanges.
Alongside the award, a new study called “The Status of Open Innovation in Europe” was published. The report includes data from the top 36 companies recognized as active in open innovation in Europe. You can find it by clicking here.
Want to see a concrete example?
You will certainly remember the French startup Foodchéri, a fresh meals delivery company, in which we took a majority stake in January 2018. Thanks to our partnership, Foodchéri is expanding its operation in France, where it currently serves more than 150,000 Parisians with 20,000 meals per week. The new destination is Lyon, the second largest city in France and one of the world’s gastronomy capitals. Good luck Foodchéri, and keep counting on us!
